Our expertise and approach

S’more Summer leverages our unique expertise, in school operations to summer camp leadership and management, to help organizations expand their impact and close opportunity gaps for young people. All of our partnerships are customized to respond to your needs and best support your organization and the youth you serve. We begin most engagements by reviewing your current program, practices, and policies and providing our recommendations to inform implementation support through ongoing consulting, coaching, or training.

Consulting

Through our custom consulting services, we help you identify where you are and support you on the path toward continuous improvement in all areas of your program with a DEIB lens—all in alignment with your organizational goals to provide better experiences for your youth and community. Our process may include:

Curriculum and artifact reviews: We conduct an audit of your curriculum and artifacts through an anti-bias and anti-racist (ABAR) pedagogy lens and an evaluation of how your organization demonstrates evidence of equity across your processes, systems (e.g. Campminder, PowerSchool), policies, and data.

Program observations: We visit and observe your program through an equity lens to provide both immediate and long-term suggested changes.

Focus groups and action planning: We facilitate focus groups to assess the current state of your organization, collect feedback, and make actionable recommendations for improvement.

Coaching

Through our coaching engagements, we work directly with individuals or small groups within your organization to:

Training

Through our trainings, we help develop your organization’s ability to provide inclusive spaces for your entire community and those you wish to invite in. We offer staff, board, and volunteer trainings in virtual or in-person formats and can also build and customize multi-training workshops to best support you and your team.
